[00:00:00] Hello, spirit led business friends, it's Azara and I am your soul centered business coach and mystical demystifier of all things esoteric and financially gainful. Welcome to the mystical business coach podcast, where I share the most impactful mystical tools to make planning and running your business more magical, more lucrative, and most importantly, more fun.
Okay, so, um, Lately, I've been kicking episodes off with an astro breakdown, where I'm talking about how to approach all the very many elements that come into play when you're learning about how to interpret astrological events, especially through the lens of business. I want to take a minute to reflect on how to understand what's happening when a specific astral body like Mars, Jupiter, Chiron, etc.
Is going through a specific zodiacal sign like Aries, Gemini, Libra. You may hear people talking about how there are a lot of planets passing through Pisces right now, [00:01:00] or how next year we have a lot of really important ingressions, where most of our outer planets are actually moving from one sign to another.
That's a really big deal. And then of course there's the fact that every planet and every point in your natal chart exists in a specific sign. To be clear, every planet or astral body or point is always in some zodiacal sign, and that's because the way we think of the signs is that they take up the entire sky.
So when you look at a natal chart, usually represented as that circle with all the slices in it, each of those slices is a section of the sky that belongs to a particular sign. And this pie might look a little different depending on whether you're using tropical astrology like I am right now, or whether you're using real sky astrology that tries to vary the amount of the sky that's taken up by each sign depending on the relative size.
Sizes of the constellations, which is super interesting. Um, but it's still a pretty niche practice at this point. Regardless, uh, there are no gaps in between the signs. So as soon as a [00:02:00] planet leaves one sign, it enters into the next. So what does that mean for the planets? When I picture it in my mind, it's almost like the planets are transitioning from room to room and each room has a different color light illuminating it.
So the planet becomes bathed in that light and it's still fundamentally that same planet, but it's got a little bit of a different presentation going on. Another way to think about this is that the signs are kind of like a cosmic seasoning, and they sprinkle some flavoring on top of the planets that are transiting through them.
So when Mercury goes into Taurus, they get hit with a sprinkle of cinnamon. And then as they shift into Aries, they might get hit with a little chili powder. And then on their way into Pisces, they get some furikake seaweed seasoning going on or, you know, whatever. Or it's like the planets are dumplings and they're shifting through different flavors of broth. I don't know. That makes sense to me. I tend to think in food, so bear with me through all of these extremely delicious metaphors. But in other words, basically, we're talking about a scene [00:03:00] change or a context shift, which doesn't necessarily dramatically smack.
The planet itself in the face, but it's that subtle shift of background that can change the mood and the state of the planet and as such, it impacts how those energies influence us in some meaningful ways. I like to think of every transit I interpret as a sentence. I've mentioned that before.
And in that sentence, the planets are like nouns. The aspect is the verb. Like to trine, to square, to oppose, to sextile, et cetera. Um, and then the signs are adjectives that are modifying the planets. They're modifying those nouns. So for instance, today we're going to talk about Mercury in Sagittarius squaring Saturn in Pisces.
Mercury and Saturn are the nouns, mind and structure. Squares is the verb, so Mercury squares Saturn translates to mind challenges structure, the way that I interpret these elements. And then we have our [00:04:00] flavorings, our adjectives, which are the signs, Sagittarius and Pisces, expansive and spiritual.
Obviously, this is all a great oversimplification, but these are the essential meanings that we're getting started with. So the full translation of Mercury in Sagittarius, Squares, Saturn in Pisces, would be expansive mind, challenges, spiritual structure.
And once we have this fundamental groundwork of meaning laid, we can start to interpret more deeply around these meanings. What that even means, you know, expansive mind, that should make sense immediately. We're thinking in more expansive ways, not just focusing on exactly the task at hand, which is usually where Mercury's attention tends to be focused.
But spiritual structure, like what is that? Well, last week I talked about how spiritual Pisces can flavor structured Saturn by helping us to see the routines that we build into our business as rituals. Elevating our ho hum day to day activities into acts of devotion and [00:05:00] celebration of the cosmic energies that we're bathed in every day.
It's such a lovely way to reinterpret a planet that's normally regarded as hyper practical and very stern. Another cool example of this is Venus is shifting into Capricorn from Sagittarius this week. So Venus's flavoring is about to change pretty radically from the adventurous, expansive seasoning of Sag to the more uptight and controlled flavor of Capricorn. Venus in Sagittarius translates to expansive connection, whereas Venus in Capricorn translates to ambitious connection. You can immediately feel the difference here. Venus in Sag wants to connect with others to learn and grow, and Venus in Cap wants to connect to advance an agenda, to, uh, to network with a really specific goal in mind, that sort of thing.
It shouldn't surprise you in the least that Sagittarius is ruled by expansive, optimistic Jupiter and Capricorn is governed by focused, realistic Saturn. So those flavors are in the mix [00:06:00] and they do have an impact on how we wind up experiencing the energies that are filtering down to us. It's pretty cool, right?
The last thing that's worth noting here is that every planet has a special relationship with four specific signs, which we call the four dignities of that planet. The dignities position a planet to be in domicile, to be exalted, to be in detriment, or to be in its fall.
When a planet is in domicile, it's at home. And don't confuse this with the 12 houses that you see in your natal chart. This is totally different. It's more like a planet's home base. You can also think of this as rulership. Planets are in domicile in the signs that they rule or govern.
The Sun is in domicile in Leo. The Moon is in domicile in Cancer. Mercury is in domicile in Gemini and Virgo. Venus is in domicile in Libra and Taurus. Mars is in domicile in Aries and Scorpio, although according to modern astrology, which takes the outer planets into consideration, Mars [00:07:00] is in domicile in Aries, but Scorpio is Pluto's sign of domicile.
And similarly, Jupiter traditionally rules Scorpio. Sagittarius and Pisces, but in modern astrology, Pisces is Neptune's sign of domicile. Traditionally, Saturn rules Capricorn and Aquarius. And in modern astrology, Aquarius is Uranus's sign of domicile. Fun fact, the planet that rules your rising sign is considered the ruler or the steersman of your chart.
So I'm an Aquarius rising. So traditionally the steersman of my chart is Saturn. Which checks out, uh, but from the perspective of modern astrology, my steersman is Uranus, which honestly checks out even better, given the state of my nervous system most of the time. So let's talk about being in detriment next, because it's related to being in domicile.
Uh, so a planet is in detriment or in exile when it's in the sign opposite to the one that it rules. So to bop through them really quick, modern astrology style, the sun is in detriment in Aquarius. [00:08:00] The moon in Capricorn, Mercury in Sagittarius and Pisces, Venus in Aries and Scorpio, Mars is in detriment in Libra, Jupiter in Gemini, Saturn in Cancer, Uranus in Leo, Neptune in Virgo, and Pluto is in detriment in Taurus.
As I went through that list, I could just feel the tension between these planets and signs. It's not a devastating difference, but it's uncomfortable. So it's harder for planets to get their footing when they're in the sign of their detriment. Jupiter is in detriment right now. Jupiter is in Gemini, and that's been an energy that has dulled Jupiter's forces a little bit, as we're going through that transition with him.
Okay, next up we have exaltation. Yay! It's a place of heightened awareness and just vibiness and sparky energy. So I always think of like, if being in domicile is like the harmony of beautiful trining [00:09:00] energy, then being in exaltation is more like the brilliance of a sextile. So the sun is exalted in Aries.
The moon in Taurus, Mercury in Virgo, Venus in Pisces, Mars in Capricorn, Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn is exalted in Libra, Uranus in Scorpio, Neptune in Leo, and Pluto is exalted in Aries. These are like friends who just get along. They're pretty different, but their energies complement each other really nicely.
And then there are people who And this is what we call a planet being in its fall, when it's in the sign opposite to where it's exalted and it's just not happy. It's considered to be a position of weakness, and it's the least advantageous spot for a planet to be. The sun is in its fall in Libra, the moon in Scorpio, Mercury in Pisces, Venus in Virgo, Mars in Cancer, Jupiter's in its fall in Capricorn, Saturn in Aries, [00:10:00] Uranus in Taurus, Neptune's in its fall in Aquarius, and Pluto is in its fall in Libra.
These four dignities add to the flavors being applied to planets in some really interesting and unique ways. So just keep your ear out for when I call out that a planet is exalted, or in its fall, or whatever the case may be, and know how it's adding to the complexity of the interpretation. Woo! Okay, that was a lot.
Let's move on to our weekly vibe check. This week has some challenging astrology in it. I'm going to be honest with you. Full moons bring some very powerful energy into play and as beautiful as they are, they can be really emotionally overwhelming. And then we've got an ingression that takes Venus from a sign of like chill, good vibes to one of get shit done focus.
Which is not a bad thing, it's just different. Uh, then we've got a square between our two most intensely get shit done planets. So that's kind of impacting things. And we have a couple oppositions to contend with. at the end of the week. One [00:11:00] right on top of the other.
So, you know what, let's just get into it. And I'll remind you, as I always do, that you can either take these transits day by day, Or you can decide which one or which ones you most need right now, and then focus on those and kind of just ignore the rest. These energies are here to serve you as you need them.
So if you resonate with any of the scenarios that I talk through more than any others, just focus your energy there. All right, here we go, weekly transits. First up, we have an ingression, and that's where an astral body shifts from one zodiacal sign to another. Into another as we were just talking about and on Monday, November 11th, at 1026 AM Pacific, 126 PM Eastern, it's going to be Venus sliding from good times Sagittarius into hard ass Capricorn. So it's quite the pivot in energy. Remember that when we're looking at planets to interpret their energy, the sign they're in is sort of like that flavoring that gets sprinkled on top.
That. Delicious broth that they're soaking in. And so when Venus moves from Sagittarius, [00:12:00] where she was all about connecting in an adventurous and expansive and very social way, into Capricorn, she's ditching her big round sunglasses for some big round regular glasses. She's not here to party. She's here to forge connections that revolve around productivity and accomplishment.
She wants to support you from a place of responsibility and charm you with the possibilities of all that you can achieve with the right network and the right customer base. So it goes almost without saying that Venus and Cap is an incredible business coach. Capricorn is grounding. And even tempered, while Venus brings the empathy and connectivity to do things like find your most perfectly aligned ideal clients who are just fully ready to jump into your practice.
Venus in Capricorn knows how to listen and how to guide and her sharpness of mind is a major boon to anyone benefiting from her guidance. Venus in Cap is also super awesome at networking and making it easier for you to connect with peers and prospective collaborators who can really help you take your reach to new depths or new [00:13:00] heights.
Both, I guess, right? It's expanding in both directions. This is helpful energy for us introverts, who may be perfectly happy to wheel and deal, but then we need lots and lots of recovery time afterwards because of how much energy is being sucked out of us by being social. Venus in Capricorn gives us a little extra pep and may help you have an easier time actually initiating conversations or reaching out to connect rather than just being reactive and receptive.
So your business action is to get out there for the next month while Venus is in Capricorn all the way out to December 6th or 7th, and there's no need to be wild or like pressure yourself to be super innovative or whatever, just focus on doing the work of making those critical connections, both with your audience and with your potential partners and collaborators, uh, all while you have the benefit of access to this awesome energy.
One thing you can do to really boost this energy signal. One thing you can do to really boost this energy signal is sign up for a conference that takes place in the next couple of months [00:14:00] or later. Because remember, this energy isn't just good for acing the event itself. It's actually best for helping you initiate by signing up in the first place.
The conference could be in the summer of next year. Just use this energy to get your name on the list so you can stunt on people whenever it's time. Bonus points if you can find a way to get on a panel or otherwise present yourself as a serious authority because the resulting networking you'll be able to do will be absolutely unparalleled.
And if conferences aren't your jam, you can simply turn your attention to your audience and do some marketing that gets up close and personal while also showing off your knowledge and your skill set. And this can look. A lot of different ways. It can look like a webinar that focuses on one of your areas of particular expertise, or doing a series of lives where you discuss events or share information that you're confident about your knowledge in.
Use Venus in Cap Energy to position yourself as an expert because you'll really resonate with your audience from that vantage point over the next month or so. All right, next up on Tuesday at 522 a. [00:15:00] m. Pacific, 822 a. m. Eastern, we've got our most challenging transit coming down with Mercury squaring Saturn.
Mercury is going to be at 12 degrees and 42 minutes of Sagittarius, and Saturn at 12 degrees and 42 minutes of Pisces. This transit is great for focus work because even when they're squaring each other, Mercury and Saturn's shared interest in getting shit done, Remains what it is, and they love that about each other, and they're ready to throw down on some work, no matter what the aspect.
But this transit is completely terrible for communication. It has a really uneven impact on Mercury's broad skill set, boosting the specific areas of Mercury that overlap with Saturn, so logistical thinking, organization, structure, planning, while completely stifling Mercury's penchant for clear communication.
This is where the classic frustration of the square comes into play. Your brain is going to be crackling with electricity, running about a mile a minute and bursting with ideas and focus and incredible lightning in a bottle style energy. [00:16:00] And you might find yourself completely unable to communicate what's going on in there to literally anybody else.
This can be especially hard if you're on some kind of a team that relies on tight communication to function, or even harder if you're running that team and find yourself struggling to help them understand where your head's at. Also, adding to the complexity of this transit, Mercury is in Sagittarius, remember that's expansive mind, when we translate it into a very basic interpretation, and Saturn's in Pisces, that spiritual structure.
What's happening is that Mercury is trying to work expansively and connect and communicate with others with Sagittarius stimulating their ability to communicate clearly, which is so important for learning and teaching, right?
This is an expressive avatar for Mercury. But Saturn in Pisces can be very sanctimonious and dismissive and more inclined towards depression and feeling antisocial Pisces is ruled by Neptune, according to modern astrology, and Neptune does not vibe with Saturn [00:17:00] Neptune can sweep Saturn off their feet and just really frustrate them by confusing their normally crystal clear view of every little detail, sort of enveloping it in that Neptunian fog that can be so so frustrating.
The unfortunate outcome of all these energies is that you can easily end up getting stuck wandering the darker corridors of your mind, which leads to difficult places that you might not want to visit right now, but you might find yourself drawn towards anyways. If you're prone to spiraling when something goes wrong, be extra mindful towards the beginning and middle of this week and remind yourself that you may need to actively battle this energy if you start slipping into a bleak lack of optimism.
And of course, with everything going on in the world right now, and in our country, if you're here with me in the US, that slope is slipperier than ever. So just stay aware.
In a funny way, this transit is sort of analogous To the Venus Neptune square we experienced last week, where instead of our two most swooningly romantic planets finding frustration with each other, we've got our two [00:18:00] least romantic planets doing the very same. Two hyper practical besties working themselves into a hole in the ground, where it's kind of hard to dig themselves out of, finding themselves problematically susceptible to pessimism cloaked as realism.
You'll find yourself extra aware of the flaws and shortcomings both in yourself and in your environment. Perhaps perceived flaws and shortcomings, right? Are they real? Probably not. Um, and so that includes in how you're performing as a business owner and how your business is performing. And you might hear yourself being extra mean about it, either internally, like in your own head, or when you talk about yourself in a disparaging way to other people.
And be ready to hear your friends and others you love talk crap about themselves. And also be ready to love on them and help them out of that pit if it's affecting them this week. Another thing is that this transit also takes your practicality to an unhelpful level. Are you someone who tends to avoid risk and who feels like you need to understand every single element of every [00:19:00] plan in order to be comfortable with moving it forward?
Then get ready for that lovely anxiety to go through the absolute roof. You might also find that if your friends are having a tough time, your instinct is to quote unquote help by suggesting a ton of things they can do. So like offering strategies instead of a shoulder to cry on, which isn't always what people are asking for.
This is especially an issue for those of us who sometimes struggle with intimacy or the empaths out there who find themselves completely subsumed by the feelings of others. Just do your best in these situations and try to be there for others while also prioritizing your Protecting yourself, however, you need to right now.
So for a business action, I say, let yourself retreat into your task cave. If you have the energy for furious work, but don't have it for dealing with the rest of the world. I'm literally the last person on the planet. Who's going to tell you that if you're feeling down about the state of your business or the world or even your own personal state of being that you need to buck up and get [00:20:00] over it.
No, we're not forcing ourselves right now. Things are fucked. Hopelessness is endemic at this point, and as a person with high empathy, let alone those of you out there who are proper empaths and actively channeling and moderating the feelings of those around you, you are, extra sensitive to this big wave of sadness sweeping the country if you're here in the U.
S. right now, uh, dealing with this post election fallout, or anywhere in the world if you're staying even marginally abreast of what's going on out here. Let that sensitivity be okay. Don't reject your empathy. Allow yourself to feel the echoes of our collective sadness, but if they're threatening to undo you, give yourself space to retreat, especially if you feel the pull to fall down the work hole, as it were.
You know what I'm talking about, the work hole, that super deep hyper focus, and you especially know what I mean if you're one of my fellow neuro spicy people out there. If you have ADHD too, then you really do know about that life. So when Mercury and Saturn tap you on the shoulder and are like, [00:21:00] well, we're about to spend the next nine hours doing this one thing, you know, so buckle up.
If that's how this transit hits you, let it hit you that way. Just make sure you have some water and snacks nearby, so you stay hydrated and well fueled. Now we're going to make a big leap from Tuesday all the way to Friday for many of us the last day of the work week, when at 621 a. m. Pacific, 921 a. m. Eastern, Saturn will station direct at 12 degrees and 41 minutes of Pisces after being retrograde since June 29th.
So most people who are astrocurious usually find out pretty quickly about Mercury retrograde. Hell, you probably know about it even if you're not curious, but you spend literally any time around anybody who is. But it's important to know that not only Mercury retrogrades, most planets do it, including Saturn.
Not all of them, but most of them. When a planet is in retrograde, it appears to be moving backwards across the sky, and that motion turns its energies inward. So think introspection. Retrospection, reflection, all that [00:22:00] good inner thought work and processing. That's really important for checking in with yourself and making sure that you're learning from the experiences you're going through.
So it's an awesome post mortem energy that supports you in doing things like analyzing the performance of a launch or a program run or anything really, and making sure that you have some really solid takeaways that are going to help you do even better next time. So there's some context about retrogrades, but we're actually not talking about a retrograde here. We're talking about a planet stationing direct. That's the moment that a planet that was in retrograde seems to shift back into its normal forward motion. When the planet stations direct, And proceeds forward through the sky again, the energies clarify and become more outwardly oriented.
We become more exploratory and receptive to input from others, more open to and aware of context from our environments, that kind of thing. The back and forth of retrograde and stationing direct is a cycle that reminds us to take the time to examine our inner landscapes and our outer landscapes as [00:23:00] well.
So Saturn is going direct on Friday and that's good news for those of us who need some extra support navigating external systems or integrating your business into them. I mean, like getting your taxes figured out and generally like working with an accountant to sort the financial side of your business out or making sure your contracts are ironclad and your agreements leave no room for unexpected and unfortunate litigation.
So there's no single hard and fast business action for Saturn stationing direct, just a suggestion that you stay aware of this energy shift as you're heading into it. If you really want to get into it and find a way to channel that fresh energy on Friday, you can set aside your morning or afternoon to work on a project that involves beefing up your legal protections if you need to, or putting them in place in the first place.
That's important too. Uh, if you're a coach or other service provider and you don't have a contract that you use with your clients. Then, I actually lied, you do have an action that you need to take on Friday, which is to get a contract together. You may need to reach out to [00:24:00] another professional you know and trust to see if they'll share one with you.
You might need to find a lawyer who you can engage with just to help you get a contract together that you're certain is protecting you the way that it needs to. Whatever you need to do, get you a contract. Okay, you need to protect yourself and your business. Okay, moving on. Next up, on Friday afternoon, we've got a full moon.
Reaching exactitude at 1 38 p. m. Pacific, 4 28 p. m. Eastern with the moon at 24 degrees and one minute of Taurus. So a full moon in Taurus. She is here to ask you a very uncomfortable question. What are you to that isn't serving you? Just digging your heels in and holding on for dear life, even as it's making your life complicated and nightmarish.
Unfortunately, you may be clinging to it because it's comfortable for you, familiar. There's a safety there. It's a safety blanket for you.
And sometimes staying stuck is comfortable enough that even if it [00:25:00] totally sucks and it drains you and it isn't what you want for your life. You don't actually end up pushing yourself past it. Let's talk about some examples. Okay. What does this look like? So a common one in the world of entrepreneurship is clinging to a soul sucking corporate or office job, even though your side hustle that you absolutely love is taking off because you're afraid that you don't have what it takes to go out on your own.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, maybe, a lot of us get so desperate to escape corporate hell that we make the leap while terrified. Which is fine, But it have to be so maddening and intense? Was there a way to do this where I didn't have to spend every moment of the transition suffering from an anxiety stomach ache?
Yes, it is possible to rip off your safety blanket without it being the most traumatic experience of your life. And we're going to talk about what that looks like in just a moment.
But first, I want to mention that perhaps the most difficult safety blanket to let go of is the cause of that fear [00:26:00] of making the leap, a. k. a. a relationship that isn't serving you. It's especially hard to get around these kinds of relationships for people who have been socialized as girls and women because we're taught that we owe everybody our time and attention, and usually our unpaid labor and service as well.
And on top of that, we may have internalized the messaging that other people, be they men or women, are automatically right, and we're automatically wrong, especially if they're older than us. So we feel compelled to do what they say because they're right. Hey, they probably know better anyways. So many, if not, most of us get stuck in situations where one person or many people have control over how we spend our time and what we choose to push forward.
And when we decide it's time to tap out. So, so far this month, you've already been pushed quite a bit by planetary energy that's asking you to lean into your growth edge, that boundary at the limits of your experience that marks the borderline between your comfort zone and your stretch zone. This full moon in Taurus is [00:27:00] about to take it up several notches, as full moons tend to do, because they call on us to release.
Release what isn't working. Release what isn't serving you. Release the things that hurt you and trap you. And in the case of the full moon in Taurus, release what doesn't fit your values and what you're clinging to stubbornly for comfort. Release the things you're putting in hard, consistent work to hold on to, despite the fact that they're covered in thorns that are stabbing you 24 seven, or they're 500 pounds of dead weight, anchoring you exactly where you are.
A short note before we jump into business actions here, this full moon is taking place closely conjunct to Uranus, hence the very next transit that's happening, , being a sun Uranus opposition, because full moons are technically a sun moon opposition.
Anyways, all that nerdery is to say that this full moon is going to be right on top of Uranus and that makes it extra impactful on your nervous system with a higher than normal potential for the welling up of fear and [00:28:00] exhaustion and emotional turmoil. So it's a touchy one, but that doesn't change the fact that its energies are not to be avoided.
Okay? So if you feel avoidance starting to tap you on your shoulder, do your best to power through. So for our business action, you're going to release something. But what does that even mean? Great question. Let's talk about it. There are lots of ways to release something, but the goal is to remove it from taking up precious real estate in your brain, whether it's your own horrible, intrusive thought, or someone else's discouraging nonsense.
So releasing something is difficult, because it's basically impossible to just delete a thought out of our minds, and in fact, the more we try to push it down, oftentimes the more we end up focusing on that thought. It's a, the more we think about not thinking about it, the more we think about it kind of thing.
So what do you do? You take the poison out of the thought. It only hurts you because there's something about it that you believe. So, for instance, lots of us in business are dealing with naysayers in our friend or family groups [00:29:00] whose casual dismissal of what we do cuts straight to the bone.
Why does it hurt so bad when your random uncle tells you that you need to get a real job because you need the security and he heard that the economy is just going to keep getting worse.
So if you don't want to have the rug pulled out from under you, you better go work for some rich jerk. And also.
What even is this thing you're doing anyways? Do people even need that? If you haven't cracked six figures yet, then there's probably not an audience for it, et cetera, et cetera. Why does that crap hurt so bad? It's because there's a part of you that is completely terrified that he's right. As much as you want to believe he isn't.
And what's happening is that you're making decisions from this place of fear. So you're naturally not pushing yourself as hard. you're not marketing as consistently. You're not putting in as much passion or authenticity into your work, and it's keeping you smaller than you would be otherwise.
Possibly by a lot.
You might be missing enormous opportunities because at the last minute you psych yourself out, or feel like if you were to take the opportunity [00:30:00] but fail, you'd be validating all that crap that was said by your uncle, or your aunt, or your cousin, or your mom, or your dad, or your primary caregiver from childhood.
That's extra hard, or just fucking society, or some horrible member of your friend group that everybody tolerates for some reason. If you failed You'd be validating what they said, and you wouldn't be able to look at yourself in the mirror anymore. It's a terrible place to find yourself.
So how do we release that shit? Especially if we can't literally release that person from our lives, or not completely anyways, or maybe we don't want to because of how hard it would make social or family functions. You have to release your fear of failure. That's what it all comes down to. The only reason that other people's predictions of your failure freak you out and prevent you from even trying is that you're afraid they'll be right.
And guess what? You're not. They might be, at least partially. You might launch a product that crashes and burns, or maybe it never even takes off. You might be entering a market with lots of [00:31:00] voices in it and have to fight pretty hard to be heard. The economy is probably going to suck for a long time, although I will never, ever concede that working for a company is more stable than striking out on your own, having weathered so many layoffs over the past five years and having been impacted directly by one of them myself.
That idea is just straight up BS. Incorrect from my perspective, but the other stuff might not be. And guess what? That isn't a reflection on you. That's not your fault, but there are so many failures you're likely to experience as a business person. That's the nature of business. It's like 85 percent failure.
If you're really doing it, if you're taking calculated risks and following your dreams and being honest and real and overwhelmed and stumbling or straight up eating dirt pretty consistently because you're a human. Then you're failing frequently.
But does that validate your naysayer? No, because what they're saying is that any failure on your part is a sign that you should give up. And that's where they're about as wrong as you can possibly be. [00:32:00] Business, when done in a sustainable way, is science. You do a little research, you develop a hypothesis where you're essentially making an educated guess about what's going to happen.
And then you try it out and see what happens and analyze the outcome to make a better informed prediction about what you need to do for better results next time. It's the scientific method in which failure should be approached with as little guilt or shame as possible because it isn't useful. Shame is not useful here.
Your aim should be objectivity, where you're viewing the situation for the facts of the matter and not applying a bunch of symbolic meaning to it. Like, you know, well, this product launch failed and therefore I'm a failure. That's not a useful leap to make. And it's also not reflective of the fact. And of course, perfect objectivity is not possible, right?
Humans have perspective and emotion baked into everything. We do everything we say everything we think, and that's totally fine and not worth trying to eliminate. We're not robots, but aiming towards objectivity, when you're [00:33:00] evaluating performance of a launch or whatever, that's important.
Don't analyze your performance with your emotions on blast, taking it all personally, because you're going to overreact if something went wrong. And as soon as you attach shame to a failure, it's going to be really hard to face it and examine it in detail to glean all the incredibly valuable learnings from what went wrong.
So your business action is to get started releasing your fear of failure by proving to yourself that failure is useful. What was the most recent failure you experienced in your business? Seriously, what was the most recent time where you tried something out and just absolutely ate it? Did you do an evaluation afterwards or were you unable to bear facing in at all?
It doesn't have to be something huge, it can just be one aspect of a launch or of a collaboration or of a marketing campaign that went wrong or fell flat or just completely fell apart. Maybe it wasn't an event that didn't go as planned, but part of your business systems that is continuously crapping out some aspect of [00:34:00] your business that makes you feel shamey failure feelings when you even think about it.
Okay, choose one thing and then face it, look it in the eyes. And as those feelings of shame or frustration start to well up, remind yourself that this failure is just that, a single moment where something went wrong. As they do for everyone, and it has no implications for who you are as a person whatsoever.
If it gets overwhelming, take a break. And when you come back to it, try to view it as though it was something your friend brought to you to get your opinion on. Pretend like your friend is showing you something that went wrong, and they want your perspective on what the problem might have been and what to try next.
One of the easiest ways to do this is in writing. And I find that handwriting works better for some reason. It's almost like you're getting the problem out onto paper. And in doing so, you're getting it out of your head and into the world where it's easier to be objective and less emotionally reactive about it.
So write down the details of the failure and a few initial notes on what might have gone wrong in the [00:35:00] voice of someone asking a friend for their thoughts. Put it away and pull it back out the next day with fresh eyes to read it and write a response from the perspective of a friend who's helping out.
This is just one exercise that can help you gain a little distance from the situation, and it's just the tip of the iceberg. Your struggles with failure and perfectionism might be rooted deeply enough that it's worth seeking professional help in untangling them.
That's something that I did. So that's where therapy might come into play. I do honestly believe that every business person should be in therapy because running a business is incredibly hard work and it turns a lot of internal rocks over that have a lot of horrible crap scuttling around underneath.
And I know it's expensive, so you might want to think about it as your first major investment as your business starts to get off the ground. It can really help to have someone who you're talking to regularly who isn't part of your social world so you can truly be honest with them about what's going on without having to worry that you're worrying them.
That's what I love most about therapy [00:36:00] is being able to fully unmask and just tell everyone exactly how I'm feeling and what I think without the fear of social repercussions. I love therapy. I know some people find it uncomfortable, but that's because they're still hiding things and feeling like they can't be honest.
Get a therapist and tell them all the most fucked up stuff that's swirling around in your mind, because that's how you start to get honest with yourself. And honesty is step one towards getting more comfortable with objectivity. Boom. Okay. Moving on. So the night following our full moon in Taurus, where the sun and moon are in opposition, and the moon is right on top of Uranus, we're going to encounter a related transit in which the sun opposes Uranus, with the sun at 25 degrees and 14 minutes of Scorpio, and Uranus at the same degrees as Taurus.
So think about the moon and Uranus, Being on one side of the chart, if we're looking at an event chart for this, which would look just like a natal chart, it's just a snapshot of the moment, right? Uranus and the Moon are right on top of each other, and opposite both of them is the [00:37:00] Sun.
And so now we're going to focus on Uranus's relationship to being opposite the Sun. So, it's kind of like the Sun is naturally A popular kid, super charismatic, glowing and radiant. The sun rules Leo, which is the sign of bravery and love of the spotlight. So this is a golden child, like a natural performer and socialite.
The sun is out there playing quarterback or cheerleading on the field, while Eurydice is smoking cigarettes and spray painting tags behind the bleachers. Not sure if kids still smoke cigarettes, I certainly hope not, but this analogy is out here to help us elderly millennials who remember that back in the day.
So your will, your style of performance and expression, your leadership, and Your sense of focused, courageous direction, that is in a disagreement with your punked out, fuck the system impulses to just throw caution to the wind, burn it all down, and innovate like the rebel entrepreneur you are at heart.
If you have a team, [00:38:00] this can be a moment where your motivational communication with them gets a little confusing because you're experiencing a lack of clarity between the path forward that you've laid out and that's being illuminated with the light of your willful sun that's guiding you along that path and a rebellious desire to just veer off the path and start machete ing your way into the wilderness to blaze a new path.
Oppositions like this can unfocus us, pulling us in two very different directions and making it really hard to decide how to proceed, team or no. This can look like suddenly doing something radical and out of left field that comes as a complete surprise to the people who are used to a certain attitude or approach from you, or surprising yourself in the same way.
When you're used to projecting your son, a sudden upset from Uranus can be quite startling, whether that's in a good way or perhaps in a less good way. When this energy plays out well, you suddenly find yourself having innovated in some really cool way. But when it plays out poorly, you might find that you've dismantled a key part of your [00:39:00] business or taken yourself off a clear path forward without really having a backup plan in place.
And that can get dicey real fast. And in this case, with this particular opposition, we're dealing with two very different energies to start out with, with the bright sun and cynical Uranus, and I'm not bagging on Uranus here, my chart is ruled by Uranus and I feel extreme affinity for her energies.
But then on top of that, you're going to throw in the fact that the Sun is in Scorpio, which intensifies and deepens their magnetism and glow. And Uranus is in fall in the sign of Taurus, dulling the edge of her wild rebelliousness. I mean, normally I would say that Uranus is the more intense and brooding of the two planets.
But honestly, the harsh light of the Sun in Scorpio is going to meet Uranus where she's at. And I'm not sure that makes resolving the opposition any easier. This transit is, of course, boosted by the full moon in Taurus that's asking us to let go of fear that keeps us stagnant. But I'm not saying that that means that you should just give yourself fully to Uranus and [00:40:00] start throwing sticks of dynamite at or around your business.
Oppositions call for compromise. We need to find a happy medium between our current direction and some healthy disruption. So your business action is to fight the Uranian desire to act impulsively and let the glow of the sun help illuminate any new path forward that you decide to take. Your compromise here between the sun and Uranus means allowing Uranus to benefit from the sun's foresight and ability to reveal different options in a more measured way.
So you don't get caught up in the need to innovate and barrel down a path that you haven't cleared first. But let this be fun. I love when you're in as prompts me to do something wild. Let yourself try something new. Be weird if you feel the urge.
Just make sure you're letting in the light of the sun, so that you can be a little thoughtful about the possible outcomes of your actions. Because we're dealing with the sun, I'd encourage you to explore innovating in the area of your platform. where the spotlight hits you or with your team if you're in a leadership position.
Just make sure that you're thinking about this from the perspective [00:41:00] of what is needed. Do you need to be more present as a leader or are you micromanaging them and your innovation is to invest in a task management system so you can stay on top of what people are doing without being all up in their business.
Do you need to show up on your primary marketing platform with more confidence and glow? Or are you showing up there plenty, but could spend some time finding a new way to cut down on the time it takes you to prep for your lives or your podcast or whatever it is. Batching is my favorite suggestion here.
It can massively cut down on the time it takes you to prep content. I'm actually fighting to get to a place where I can batch for mystical business coach right now. So I know it's not easy to get there. But using the power of this transit to get started in that direction is a good look. Okay, just over six hours after our sun Uranus opposition, we see a compounding of that energy in a second opposition. This one between Mercury and Jupiter. This is technically taking place on Monday, November 18th at 1255 AM Pacific, 355 AM [00:42:00] Eastern, but its energy rounds out the end of the week.
So I'm going to include it in this week's rundown. Mercury is going to be at 18 degrees and 48 minutes of Sagittarius, and Jupiter at the same degrees of Gemini. So basically, just as you're hit with your expressiveness and your direction being questioned and challenged by a call to innovation, which honestly, I don't really see as a bad thing at all, your intellectual and communicative mind is similarly in disagreement with your ability to grow or your interest in growth. Mercury is our present, constantly thinking mind, and they like to deal with what's right in front of them. Jupiter is the opposite. Jupiter is our giant expansion focused planet, and he's always urging us to grow and seek new knowledge and scale our operations.
Transcribed When these two planets get into a disagreement, you might find yourself feeling torn between focusing on the day to day tasks you need to do in order to keep things going, and the bigger opportunities that you could be taking advantage of, and the actions that you could be taking to get more [00:43:00] exposure.
This becomes a real problem when you're finding that you're so mired in the weeds with your mercurial tasks, you can hardly surface to get a breath of air, let alone orchestrate a collaboration with another coach or start looking for a speaking gig like you've been wanting to, or finally, finally sit down and take that course you invested in two years ago, because it'll teach you the exact skill you know you need in order to take your product or your marketing or whatever to the next level.
Jupiter's sitting there going, please just put your busy work aside for like three hours to at least explore how you're going to make that next step. And Mercury is tapping on their watch like, nope, we have to get this done. We have to get this project out the door by end of day.
There's no time. You may find that you're encountering really exciting growth opportunities, but your logical mind is cautioning you not to overextend yourself. This is actually a healthy instinct. The last thing you want to do is overcommit and find yourself getting three hours of sleep a night for two weeks so that you can just get it all done.
This is especially hard if you're a caregiver, like a parent to a [00:44:00] small child, where most of your time is not your own and there's really nothing you can do about it. The compromise that you need to seek in these moments is to balance your day to day work with expansion efforts.
Not putting off those tasks you've got to get off your plate, but also not ignoring the bigger picture that's necessary to actually growing your business. For business actions, here's what I suggest you do to honor and resolve this opposition. You You need to unite Mercury's ability to short term plan with Jupiter's ability to do more long term planning.
So break out your calendar, and let's do some scheduling. I want you to literally schedule in a regular block of time where you are honoring Jupiter. Your Mercury is doing well. They're fed. If you have a functioning business, your Mercury has got plenty to focus on. Your Jupiter, however, can really get swept into a corner with a lot of promises of like, Oh yeah, pretty soon I'll be ready to start thinking about growth.
Let me just get out of the weeds. Well, let me tell you something. The weeds don't go away. You're not getting out of them anytime soon. So this should [00:45:00] be a weekly block of time, and it should fit somewhere into your week that isn't super stressful for you to take a beat and focus on pursuing bigger and better opportunities.
For instance, I have a kind of weird schedule right now due to being a caregiver of a small child, as you may have guessed, because I bring that up a lot, and having part time to full time consulting work that I'm always doing to pay the bills and, you know, building mystical business coach as well.
So my time slot for focusing on these bigger picture moves is spread across Monday and Tuesday night. That's because I usually have something big I need to deliver or an onboarding to run or training to deliver on Mondays.
It just usually works out that way. So in the moments of relief, after the big push of prep work for that is done, that's when I give myself low pressure time to focus on those farther out goals and actions that Don't see an immediate payoff. You may even need to make a sacrifice on the Mercury side to appease your Jupiter.
You might need to let go of something if you're squeezed so tight that you can't possibly fit anything else in. I have now [00:46:00] thrice fired a client because I just couldn't handle it all while also being able to spend time focused on growth. It's that important. I sacrificed income now, knowing that it'll come back to me many, many times over
as I build out the programming that I'm building or invest time in creating really solid podcast content, if I do say so myself, and pretty soon I'm going to be doing a significant marketing push that I'm prepping for. And so I'm laying a foundation of content and getting myself into a good rhythm with Mystical Business Coach in preparation for that as well.
So that's your business action for this transit. Make room for expansion now, even if you aren't ready to expand, because one day. You're going to want to be ready, and you'll have taken the time slowly and incrementally to plan all that shit out. Jupiter is going to love you for it, and being the benefic planet that he is, you may notice him showering you with little gifts and charms and opportunities the more you dedicate time to him.
So it's worth it. All right, that does it. Let's [00:47:00] do a super speedy recap. On Monday, November 11th, Venus is moving from Sagittarius into Capricorn, so drop your drink and grab your contact list. You're networking your butt off this month. On Tuesday, we've got a Mercury Saturn square, so let yourself retreat from the world and get focus work done if that's what your body and mind are asking for.
Don't trip if you have trouble communicating, just be patient with yourself and protective of your sensitivities. On Friday, Saturn stations Direct after four and a half months of being in retrograde. Use this increased clarity to get your business systems together, especially if you have any gaps in your legal protections.
I'm talking contracts and other language on your website and on your products that help protect you from legal action. Also on Friday, we've got a full moon in Taurus asking you to let go of your security blankets by facing your fear of failure. Don't cut occasional naysayers out of your life completely if you can make an internal shift that keeps you from taking their doubtful words to heart.
But do cut them out if you really have to. I mean, [00:48:00] honestly, sometimes you just got to walk away. Then on Saturday, we've got a sun urinous opposition that asks us to find a compromise between staying on the straight and narrow path that we've illuminated for ourselves and veering off into the bushes.
How can you innovate while refraining from getting pulled off of your mission driven, goal oriented pathway? Reflect on that. and finally, in the wee hours of Monday morning, we have a Mercury Jupiter opposition that can be resolved with a commitment to keep long term planning and expansion goals in mind, even as you battle through your day to day task lists.
And that's it. A moderately busy week for the cosmos with not a whole lot of supportive energy. But what we do then is that we work through the energies that we have, To make them more supportive. We use the oppositions to learn lessons about compromise. We use the squares to find solutions that keep us moving forward.
And we weather the slowly shifting backgrounds of the Zodiac by embracing the new energies, flavoring our transiting planets.
