Transiting Emotions: Strategic Astrology for Your Business (Week of July 29th)
Jul 29, 2024
Welcome back to the Strategic Astrology series where I break down how the transits of the upcoming week will impact your business! It's a lean week with just three noteworthy events to explore, but they create a hefty emotional landscape for us to navigate. Let's dive in.
Tuesday July 30th
❤️🩹 Venus trines Chiron Rx (3:54pm ET)
[love] [supports] [emotional healing]
Chiron stationed retrograde last Friday the 26th of June, and may have stirred up some conflicts between you and a client, employee, or collaborator. Now, coming up on Tuesday, it’s Venus to the rescue! I can’t think of a better planet to put its arm around our shoulders as we recover from either our own emotions due to Chiron retrograde or being on the receiving end of others’, which can be even harder.
When Venus forms a trine with another celestial body, she is comforting, loving, and offers us the opportunity to do healing work. And usually we get excited about the idea of healing, because healing is good!
But what we forget is that it is also hard. Being healed is the state of peace that we long for, but getting there is almost always an uphill battle. Healing in and of itself requires work, and before you can even get started you have to identify the cause of the wound and what is causing it to continue to fester.
How do we heal when a client or collaborator lashes out, which can trigger feelings of imposter syndrome, insecurity, and anxiety? When we ask Venus what tools we can use in challenging conflicts like this, the wisdom we receive is that we heal by remembering our value.
As business owners, we spend a lot of time fussing around with the value of our offers, the value of the services we provide, of the products we build, how to communicate that value to prospective clients etc. etc.
But, the most important part of our business that we often neglect to appreciate the value of is ourselves.
So when Chiron retrogrades in Aries and the people we work with go on the offensive, it can be easy to find ourselves reacting to their anger towards us by automatically devaluing ourselves. “Ugh maybe they’re right, I'm doing a terrible job. Maybe I’m no good at this, maybe I should never have struck out on my own, maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about…” The spiral goes on and on, and at the very bottom of it sits the thought, “Maybe I’m not enough.”
Thankfully, Venus is here to remind you that you are, you're more than enough. In giving us this important reminder, Venus unlocks Chiron’s ability to heal rather than deepen harm. Chiron can be an incredible problem solver, and this week it is asking us to challenge our feelings of being “not enough” and come up with a plan for addressing conflicts by recommitting honoring our boundaries, to keep others’ words from having any impact on the esteem we hold ourselves in.
Venus trining Chiron is good vibes, so let that transition soothe you this Tuesday.
Take Action: Remind yourself of your value. Do you have a place where you keep track of your professional wins? If not, create one, and get started by listing as many wins as you can, wins being things you've done that resulted in a positive outcome, whether it was for you or a client. What do you feel really, truly proud of? What change did you create, what impact have you had? Big or small, add it to the list, and keep adding to it over time. Revisit this list any time you need a reminder of who you truly are.
Friday August 2nd
😤 Venus squares Uranus (9:27am ET)
[arrogance] [clashes with] [impatience]
Venus just gave us a moment of recovery, comfort, and soothing support at the beginning of the week, but in classic fashion, the cycling of the planetary bodies is ready to serve us up a challenge.
On Friday of this week, Venus is going to form a square with Uranus. I'll also point out that Venus will be in the zodiacal sign of Leo, and Uranus will be in Taurus, which adds some dramatic flavor to the nature of this transit.
Venus in Leo is dramatic, magnetic, and flamboyant, all good things in my book! But this combo can also yield arrogance and egoism, especially if we allow the challenging squared relationship it’s forming with Uranus to get to us.
Uranus is innovation, nonconformity, exceeding limitations, and the element of surprise, an awesomely important player in astrology for business. When Uranus ingresses into Taurus, the most notoriously stubborn sign of the Zodiac, it can create energies that help you break out of harmful cycles through persistence, shatter limiting structures, and create opportunity for your vision to come together in the future through consistency.
But there is a conflict in this relationship, where Uranus tends to be erratic, and Taurus is all about consistency. Irrational stubbornness can result, which is one of the more harmful ways we can go about our business, digging our heels in without justification, perhaps for emotional reasons rather than good business strategy.
Venus in Leo squaring Uranus in Taurus can cause energetic outbursts as we seek stimulation, oftentimes in the form of stirring things up with other people. It can lead to impatience, hot-headedness, and “You’re wrong, I’m right, and that’s the end of it” type arguments that do not resolve problems.
Sound familiar? This transit may kick up problems that echo what we went through on Friday when Chiron stationed retrograde. Don’t undo the hard work you did with Venus and Chiron by picking fights, or allowing others to pick them with you. Your top priority is shutting it down. You don’t need the drama.
Let's look at the bright side. As with any square, this transit offers a profound opportunity for growth. It demands that we lean into the healthy aspects of these planets to get through struggles we face: love, empathy, and kindness from Venus, and flexibility, creativity, and openness from Uranus.
Take Action: Are you facing a conflict with a client, partner, or collaborator? Figure out what’s triggering you. When they criticized you, what was it about? If it had a big impact on you and made you really feel upset, why? Do you actually agree with them? If you made a mistake, is it really a disaster? Are there options present for making a recovery, or opportunities that may help you move forward?
Now, for the Venus + Uranus work: we’re going to practice Radical Empathy. Forgive everybody. Forgive yourself if you made a mistake, you are human. Forgive yourself for defaulting to self-criticism over standing up for yourself. Forgive whomoever you’re in conflict with for reacting emotionally. Remind yourself that they aren’t perfect either, and are doing the best with the tools they have, just like you. Let everybody off the hook, find a solution, and keep going.
Sunday August 3rd
💫 New Moon in Leo
[manifestation is possible] through [taking courageous action]
To close out the week on a beautiful note, on Sunday we have a new moon taking place in Leo.
The new moon marks a time for manifestation work, and when we do manifestation work with the moon, it’s important to remember that the moon rules the realm of emotions. This is not the kind of manifestation where we make a vision board and keep it moving. The new moon is a moment to commit to doing difficult internal emotional work that is step one to making those vision board items a reality. Changing our emotions impacts the nature of the beliefs we hold about ourselves and our power, which leads to the action we take being in alignment with our goals and values. Those aligned actions within our business are what yield the revenue stream to create the income that allows us to quite literally manifest our vision board in reality, whether that's a fancy car or the ability to offer impactful support to local politicians you want to take office.
This is the perfect moment to tip over the first domino, because Leo is the zodiacal archetype that embodies courage. Why do we need to dedicate special time to doing emotional manifestation work so we can perform aligned actions? Because performing aligned actions is really hard! It takes conviction, bravery, and sacrifice, especially sacrifice of our comfort zones and avoidance tendencies.
Leo is here to give us the boost of courage we need to do the hard work.
Simone Grace Seol, a coach whose work I find extremely inspiring as a coach myself, recently said something to the effect of this: you don’t manifest things, you manifest yourself. Manifestation is the practice of calling forth your most aligned, most action-oriented, least apologetic self from the ether, and channeling her power to get it done.
Take Action: Perform one action that is an exact reflection of what your most-aligned, most courageous self would do. Do you have a sensitive conversation you’ve been avoiding? What would Manifestation You do? Have you been putting off promoting a new offer because self-doubt is creeping in? What would Manifestation You do? Here's a hint: Manifestation You would start with the emotional work. Why are you avoiding this conversation, or putting off promotion? What are you losing out on by doing this? What do you stand to gain by meeting this challenge head-on? I challenge you to take courageous action this week and enter the weekend feeling aligned and relieved.
